Week 8 NFL Power Rankings: Kansas City Stands Alone

Published

on

Head coach Andy Reid and the 6-0 Kansas City Chiefs sit atop the Week 8 NFL Power Rankings

There was some debate about who earned the top spot in the Week 7 NFL Power Rankings. The Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings remained undefeated at the top of the league. Kansas City received the nod to remain as the No. 1 team, a spot they have held throughout the 2024 season thus far. That is the benefit a franchise earns from being back-to-back Super Bowl champions.

Despite Patrick Mahomes throwing for only six touchdowns and four interceptions this season, the Chiefs have yet to lose a game. It is a frightening thought for their upcoming opponents, as Mahomes is certain to break out of his personal slump eventually.

While Kansas City remained No. 1, Minnesota lost their first game of the year and was bumped out of the No. 2 spot, replaced by Detroit, who beat them 31-29 in Week 7.

Teams ascending the most this week include the Jaguars, Eagles, Packers, Seahawks. and Rams. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers, Falcons, Saints, and 49ers are headed in the wrong direction after losses.
