Kelvin Banks Jr. was a five-star recruit out of Summer Creek High School in Harris County, Tex. He received offers from the top programs across the country. Banks took visits to LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M. He committed to Oregon before changing course and opting to sign with Texas. In their consensus rankings, 247 Sports placed Banks as the No. 30 prospect in the country, the No. 7 prospect in Texas, and the No. 3 offensive tackle prospect nationally.
