The New England Patriots returned to the practice field on Wednesday. Offensive lineman Cole Strange joined the team for the first time this season. His participation was limited, but he was back on the field. Four Patriots did not participate on Wednesday, while six others joined Strange as limited participants.

New England’s four players absent on Wednesday were OT Vederian Lowe (shoulder), DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (foot), DT Christian Barmore (non-injury related), and DT Jaquelin Roy (neck). None of these were new conditions for the players. Lowe was limited in practice all last week and questionable for the Rams game but played did play. Wise and Roy missed the game against Los Angeles due to their injuries. Barmore returned last week for the first time since his blood clot diagnosis in July and played on Sunday.

Only TE Austin Hooper (neck) joined Strange among offensive players who were limited participants. Five defenders were limited in Wednesday’s practice. That group consisted of DE Keion White (knee), DT Daniel Ekuale (elbow), LB Anfernee Jennings (knee), S Kyle Dugger (ankle), and S Marte Mapu (neck).

The Patriots included two linebackers on the injury report despite both being full participants in practice. Christian Elliss (abdomen) and Sione Takitaki (knee) were included in the report despite no restrictions. Wednesday was the first Patriots practice for the team’s newest member, linebacker Titus Leo.

The New England Patriots (3-8) play the Miami Dolphins (4-6) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
