The Cincinnati Bengals signed former New England Patriots defensive lineman Lawrence Guy Sr. to their 53-man roster. Another former Patriots player was on the move, with the Indianapolis Colts releasing cornerback Ameer Speed.

Green Bay drafted Guy in the fifth round (No. 233 overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on the Packers practice squad before being waived in 2012. He signed with Indianapolis and made his NFL debut. Guy had stints with the Colts, Chargers, and Ravens before joining the Patriots in 2017.

Lawrence Guy Sr. spent seven seasons with the New England Patriots. He was a member of their most recent Super Bowl championship squad in 2018. Guy played 110 of his 177 career NFL games with New England. He played in at least 14 games all seven seasons for the Patriots, plus an additional eight postseason games. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound veteran is primarily a defensive tackle, though has experience playing as a defensive end, particularly on short-yardage situations.

New England released Lawrence Guy Sr. and veteran safety Adrian Phillips, on Feb. 19, 2024. Neither player had signed elsewhere until this move.

The Colts released cornerback Ameer Speed on Tuesday. The New England Patriots drafted Speed in the sixth round (No. 214 overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft. New England released Speed on Oct. 19, 2023, intending to sign him to their practice squad. However, Indianapolis claimed Speed off waivers.
