Elite Prep Prospect
Abdul Carter was a four-star recruit from LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pa. On3.com consensus rankings had Carter as the No. 6 prospect in Pennsylvania, No. 22 linebacker nationally, and No. 222 recruit in the country. He committed to Penn State after considering South Carolina, Ole Miss, and other top programs.
Carter joined a Penn State team that had finished 11-11 combined in two seasons before this arrival. However, the 2022 Nittany Lions recruiting class ranked No. 6 nationally. Carter joined five-star recruits QB Drew Allar, RB Nick Singleton, and DL Dani Dennis-Sutton as part of the incoming freshmen group. Over the past three seasons, Penn State has gone 32-7.
