Patriots Daily: More Missed Calls; First Big Trade
While discussing the New England Patriots loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, it appears the officiating was even worse than initially thought. At least Bill Belichick thought so. In addition to the awful officiating calls detailed in the game summary, there was another dangerous play that flew under the radar.
Patriots RB Ezekiel Elliott was brought down by tripping multiple times. These plays are both dangerous and illegal. When Bill Belichick was mentioning the like to feel like “our players are getting protected like everybody else” he mentioned the tripping calls. ESPN’s Mike Reiss posted clips on X of two plays Belichick was likely referring to. Apparently the officiating was even worse than originally though, which was already awful.
Just starting review, but wondering if this is the play Bill Belichick is referencing on the tripping of Ezekiel Elliott (2Q/14:31). https://t.co/1Vg9j4eTX6 pic.twitter.com/A7Z11mRVOt

Fun Fact of the Day
The largest trade in NFL history took place on Oct. 12, 1989. It is known as the “Herschel Walker Trade” and sent Walker from the Dallas Cowboys to the Minnesota Vikings. In total, 18 players were involved in the deal. The draft picks Dallas recouped in the deal helped propel them to three Super Bowl championships in a four-year span in the early 1990’s.
Tweet of the Day
Today’s Tweet of the Day comes from Michael Lombardi, with an NFL Trade Deadline question based on the Leonard Williams trade…
As the trading deadline looms, remember the Giants just paid 9.4 million for a second-round pick. Who else is going to pay for picks today?
