Patriots Inactives vs. Dolphins: Two Wide Receivers Out

Published

on

New England Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton

The New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins have announced their inactive players for today’s game.

For the Patriots, Will Grier is listed as the 3rd QB, meaning Bailey Zappe will serve as the backup. LB Josh Uche, OT Calvin Anderson and OT Vederian Lowe were all known to be out in advance of today’s announcement. The other two players listed are both wide receivers: Tyquan Thornton and Kayshon Boutte.

Neither Thornton nor Boutte were listed on the injury report this past week, so both appear to be healthy scratches. That leaves the New England Patriots wide receivers available as: Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Jalen Reagor and Ty Montgomery.

Tyquan Thornton has two receptions for eight yards in two games since returning from Injured Reserve. Boutte has not played since the season opener against the Eagles, when he had no receptions on four targets.

The Dolphins have also listed their inactive players. No surprises for Miami. CB Xavien Howard helped secure the Dolphins Week 2 win over the Patriots, so Mac Jones is probably not upset about not having to face Howard again today.
