Get to know the Missouri Tigers wide receiver:
Background
Luther Burden III was a five-star recruit coming out of East St. Louis Senior High School in East St. Louis, Ill. The school has produced many notable athletes over the years. This includes former NFL Bryan Cox, who won Super Bowl 36 as a member of the New England Patriots. Burden caught 71 passes for 1,174 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior and scored eight more times as a punt returner. His team reached the Illinois State Class 6A Championship Game. Burden scored three touchdowns in the title game, but East St. Louis lost to Cary-Grove 37-36.
Burden was a consensus top-five recruit in the Class of 2022, in addition to being the top wide receiver and the top prospect from Illinois. He committed to Missouri after having named them one of three finalists, along with Alabama and Georgia.
