Thursday’s Patriots Practice Participation Report: Peppers is Back

The New England Patriots had five players who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. An additional ten players were limited participants. For a team on a three-game losing streak, this was not welcomed news. Fortunately, there was a small silver lining on Thursday as safety Jabrill Peppers (shoulder) participated after sitting out the day before. However, the overall outlook improved only slightly. Four players remained DNPs with another ten, including Peppers, limited.
Rookie tight end Jaheim Bell (neck) was the one other upgrade for New England. He went from a limited participant on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday. Bell was inactive for the Patriots Week 4 game against the 49ers with David Wilcox getting elevated from the practice squad. It is unclear if that decision was related to health or production, as Bell had not been listed on New England’s injury report last week.
Four DNPs
Peppers returned to practice, but the others who did not participate on Wednesday did not. That group includes WR K.J. Osborn (shoulder), OT Caedan Wallace (ankle), C David Andrews (shoulder), and S Kyle Dugger (ankle). Andrews will not play Sunday and is possibly done for the season. The status of Osborn, Wallace, and Dugger remains unknown, though early reports indicated Dugger will miss some time.

No Setback for PUP Players
The three New England Patriots players starting the season on the reserve/PUP list returned to practice on Wednesday. WR Kendrick Bourne, LB Sione Takitaki, and S Marte Mapu were limited participants on Wednesday. The good news is there were no setbacks for the trio.
New Addition to Report
One player appeared on Thursday’s practice participation report after being a full participant on Wednesday. CB/PR Marcus Jones (groin) joined the report as a limited participant.
Others Limited on Thursday
In addition to Jabrill Peppers, Marcus Jones, and the three players returning from the PUP list, five others were limited participants in Thursday’s practice: OT Vederian Lowe (knee), OG Michael Jordan (ankle), OG Layden Robinson (ankle/wrist), OL Nick Leverett (ankle), LB Anfernee Jennings (shoulder), and CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder). Offensive guard Sidy Sow missed the first three weeks of the season but was not listed on the report this week. That comes as some much-needed good news for an offensive line dealing with a plethora of injuries.
