Patriots Inactives vs. Saints; Some Good News for New England

New England Patriots Inactive Report for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Deshaun Fenwick

The New England Patriots have announced their inactive for today’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Out for the Patriots are LB Matthew Judon, OL Cole Strange, WR Kayshon Boutte, OL Tyrone Wheatley and OL Calvin Anderson. Will Grier is listed as the emergency QB. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez was placed on Injured Reserve yesterday.

The good news for New England is who is not listed. Cornerbacks Jonathan Jones and newly reacquired J.C. Jackson will be both be in the Patriots lineup. This provides some much needed depth at the cornerback position for New England, where they will be joined by Myles Bryant and Shaun Wade.

Also a positive to see OT Trent Brown is active, after being listed as questionable with a chest injury. With Cole Strange out, it appears that Brown will start alongside Atonio Mafi, David Andrews and Mike Onwenu. Right tackle is still an area of concern for the Patriots. Obviously Anderson and Wheatley will not be options to play there this week.

After having 10 players listed as questionable on Friday’s report, it is certainly encouraging for the New England Patriots to have only Strange out of action among that group on game day.
