Patriots Inactives vs. Chargers: Three Quarterbacks Active

Published

on

Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien talks to quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe while Bill Belichick looks on.

The New England Patriots have released their list of inactive players for today’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. There is nothing particularly notable or unexpected about the six players listed. Two of them, Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, had previously been ruled out due to injury/illness. However, it is interesting to note that the Patriots did not designate an emergency QB for the game.

With no emergency quarterback, this means three quarterbacks will be active for today’s game. Both Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones will be active, along with Malik Cunningham. New England activated Cunningham from the practice squad yesterday. It is unknown how Bill Belichick plans to split up the snaps at quarterbacks this afternoon. What we do know is that Belichick will have told all of his players to be ready to go.

The other New England Patriots inactive for today at CB Alex Austin, RB JaMychal Hasty, OT Vederian Lowe, and DE Deatrich Wise. Although Wise has been dealing with a shoulder injury for several weeks, this will be the first game it has caused him to miss this season.
