Patriots Daily: NFL Schedule Release; On to Cincinnati
The NFL released the 2024 regular season schedule last night. Some details were previously rumored or reported, but everything is now official, aside from a few ‘TBD’ for late season times. The New England Patriots will open their three-game preseason schedule on Aug. 8 when they host the Carolina Panthers. Their Week 1 game for the regular season will be a road game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Their regular season home opener is Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Patriots have quickly discovered that finishing closer to the top of the draft than the top of the standings lends itself to many Sunday afternoon games the following season. New England’s only prime time matchup is a road game against the New York Jets in Week 3. The Carolina Panthers are the only team slated to play zero games in prime time.

Among the other notable takeaways from the schedule release for the Patriots is not playing their AFC East rival Buffalo Bills until Week 16. After not playing Buffalo for the first 15 weeks, two of their final three games are against the Bills.
New England plays another international game in 2024. They play the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 7. The Patriots bye does not occur until Week 14, the last possible week.
The Patriots took Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Several other top selections are on New England’s 2024 schedule:
Caleb Williams (No. 1) – Week 10 at Chicago
Jayden Daniels (No. 2) – Preseason Week 3 at Washington
Marvin Harrison Jr. (No. 4) – Week 15 at Arizona
Joe Alt (No. 5) – Week 17 vs. LA Chargers
