Patriots Inactives: Marte Mapu Sits Again for New England
The New England Patriots released their list of inactive players for their Week 15 game against the Arizona Cardinals. There were not many surprises on the list. However, safety Marte Mapu is a seemingly healthy scratch.
Mapu began the season on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list with a calf injury. He started six games for New England after returning but has been inactive for two of the past three games before today. The Patriots listed no injury designation for Mapu this week, making this appear to be a coach’s decision based on performance. Five safeties are active for New England: Kyle Dugger, Jabrill Peppers, Jaylinn Hawkins, Dell Pettus, and Brenden Schooler.
Four players join Mapu as inactive for Week 15. New England ruled out wide receiver Javon Baker (concussion) out on Friday. OL Cole Strange needs to wait another week for his 2024 debut, despite being activated to the 53-man roster earlier this week. Emergency QB Joe Milton III and OL Tyrese Robinson round out the inactive players for New England.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals listed four players as inactive. WR Xavier Weaver, TE Travis Vokolek, OT Christian Jones, and DL Khyiris Tonga will not play. Arizona had two players listed as questionable, DTs Naquan Jones and Roy Lopez, who are both active.
The New England Patriots (3-10) visit the Arizona Cardinals (6-7) at 4:25 on CBS.
