Terrell Jennings Added to Patriots 53-Man Roster, Two Elevated
The New England Patriots placed defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy on injured reserve on Dec. 13. This created an open spot on the 53-man roster that the team did not fill for eight days. While it was speculated the spot was being held for Caedan Wallace to return from injured reserve, the Patriots eventually filled it from the practice squad. Rookie running back Terrell Jennings received a promotion to the 53-man roster.
New England signed Jennings as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Florida A&M. Last season, he rushed for 683 yards (5.6 yards per attempt) and ten touchdowns. Jennings made a positive impression during the preseason, leading the New England Patriots in rushing on 6.2 yards per attempt.
Terrell Jennings appeared in one game for the Patriots this season. New England elevated him from the practice squad for their Week 6 game against the Houston Texans. He carried the ball five times and picked up 12 yards. His promotion was necessitated by the absence of running back JaMycal Hasty, who is out for New England with an ankle injury.

Two Practice Squad Elevations
New England made two elevations from the practice squad for their Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Newly acquired wide receiver Alex Erickson and linebacker Monty Rice received the good news. Both veterans will be making their 2024 debuts and their first appearances for the Patriots.
As with Terrell Jennings, Alex Erickson became needed due to others being unavailable. Erickson is likely to handle some return duties for the New England Patriots. Punt returner Marcus Jones and kickoff returner JaMycal Hasty are both out.
