Patriots Injury Report: Three Out, Nine Limited in Wednesday’s Practice

New England Patriots safety Kyle Dugger

The New England Patriots return to practice on Wednesday in preparation for their Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Three players did not participate, while another nine were limited. Despite a dozen players not being full participants, there was some good news for New England. Wide receiver Javon Baker, still in concussion protocol, went from being a non-participant last week to a limited participant on Wednesday. This indicates Baker is progressing toward being available.

But not all the news was good for the Patriots. Running back JaMycal Hasty sat due to an ankle injury. Cornerback Marcus Jones was out due to a hip injury. Safety Kyle Dugger was a DNP due to a combination of illness and an ankle injury. The availability of all three will be monitored as the week progresses. Hasty’s absence would be the most likely to prompt a practice squad elevation, as New England only has three running backs on the 53-man roster.

Eight players joined Baker as limited participants. This group included offensive linemen Cole Strange (knee), who has yet to make his 2024 debut, and Caedan Wallace (ankle), currently on injured reserve. The Patriots have an open spot on their 53-man roster. Wallace can fill that opening without any other transactions needing to be made.

Others limited on Wednesday were OT Vederian Lowe (shoulder), DE Deatrich Wise Jr. (foot), DT Christian Barmore (non-injury related), LB Anfernee Jennings (knee), LB Jahlani Tavai (groin), and CB Christian Gonzalez (shoulder).

The New England Patriots (3-11) play the Buffalo Bills (11-3) on Sunday at 4:25 ET in Buffalo.
