Robert Kraft Thinks Taylor Swift Picked the Wrong Tight End

Taylor Swift won Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2023. Her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, just won his third Super Bowl earlier this month. Everything has been turning up roses of late for America’s new power couple. But, according to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Kelce is not the best tight end for the job.

Robert Kraft was telling a small audience about Taylor Swift playing her first stadium concert. It took place on Robert Kraft’s birthday, June 5, 2010. When she returned to Gillette Stadium this past season to watch the Patriots play the Chiefs, Kraft presented her with a framed ticket from that show.

“She’s done pretty well since then,” joked Kraft.

But Robert Kraft thinks that the Eras Tour superstar could perhaps be doing even better these days.

“Maybe he should have been dating Gronk,” suggested Kraft, referencing former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. “He’s better looking.”

Gronkowski and Kelce have been the NFL’s premier tight ends of the 21st Century. While Kelce might enjoy a statistical advantage, Gronkowski still possesses more Super Bowl rings for now. Head-to-head Kelce’s teams have gone 3-1 in the regular season, but Gronkowski’s squads are 3-0 in the postseason. Of course, Gronkowski is the better blocker, known for throwing a few opponents “out of the club” during his playing days.

Taylor Swift seems to already have made her choice, however. As long as she’s happy that’s all that matters. Next time Robert Kraft wants to play matchmaker, he’ll need to get moving a bit quicker.
