New England Patriots Inactive Report for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles

The New England Patriots announced their inactive players ahead of their Thursday Night Football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Four of the players listed were previously ruled out for New England: WR Demario Douglas (concussion), RB Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle), WR Kayshon Boutte (shoulder), and CB Shaun Wade (illness).

Joining them on the inactive list are OL Vederian Lowe, RB JaMycal Hasty, and WR DeVante Parker.

Earlier in the day, QB Malik Cunningham and RB Kevin Harris were elevated from the team’s practice squad for the game. It appeared Hasty would get his first game action since signing with New England, due to Stevenson’s absence. However, it appears that role will now fall to Harris. Ezekiel Elliott is expected to get the bulk of the workload at running back.

Parker was listed as a limited participant in practice this week with a knee injury. Apparently the veteran was not well enough to go, as his absence leaves the New England Patriots shorthanded at wide receiver. With Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, and DeVante Parker all out, the options are minimal.

JuJu Smith-Schuster (returning to play his former team), Jalen Reagor, and Tyquan Thornton will be counted on fill the void. TE Mike Gesicki could get some action as a wideout as well, with Ty Montgomery an additional option.
