Patriots Football Daily: Bill Belichick Joins the Pat McAfee Show

Bill Belichick’s football job titles have included defensive coordinator, head coach, and de facto general manager. But the longtime New England Patriots head coach found himself without a job following the 2023 NFL season. Now Belichick is adding a new title to his impressive resume. The eight-time Super Bowl champion will serve as an analyst during the 2024 NFL Draft.
Yesterday on The Pat McAfee Show the show’s host announced that Belichick would be joining them next week
“So incredibly pumped and thankful that you’ll be joining us next Thursday night in Detroit for the countdown and for the draft,” said McAfee, welcoming Belichick to the show via video.
McAfee went on to ask Belichick, in the self-deprecating fashion that has made his show so popular why he chose to join them.
“Why did you agree to do this with us? We’re so incredibly thankful.”
“I’m looking forward to seeing it from the other side,” replied Belichick. “It’ll be fun to be in Detroit, be with you guys and get your expertise.”
The football expert made himself laugh with the use of ‘expertise’ regarding the crew on the show. His appearance was filled with smiles, stories, and football talk. Belichick appeared very relaxed. It was a side of him many have been told exists, but has been rarely been seen in public. If Bill Belichick approaches next week’s appearance, and future media endeavors, the same way, he will have a bright future in football media ahead of him, if he opts to go that route.

Football Fun Fact of the Day
No. 7 has not been a lucky number for the New England Patriots. In the franchise’s 65-year history, 14 players have worn No. 7. Ten of them only played one season for the Patriots. Four played two seasons. Kicker Charlie Gogolak played three seasons, and only punter Jake Bailey played four.
Post of the Day
Bill Belichick commented yesterday on Adam “Pacman” Jones returning a punt against the New England Patriots for a touchdown before halftime in a 2006 game (Week 17). Belichick had told his punter (Todd Sauerbrun) to kick it out of bounds. This is not the return. This is the response from the New England Patriots in the third quarter, courtesy of Patriots Dynasty:
