Patriots Football Daily: JuJu Smith-Schuster Trending
New England Patriots wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had a disappointing 2023 season. He played in 11 games for the Patriots, sidelined multiple times by injuries. He finished the season with 29 receptions, 260 receiving yards, and one touchdown. New England was hoping Smith-Schuster could emerge as a number-one wide receiver last season. But even when he was healthy, that wasn’t the case.
So yesterday when Smith-Schuster was trending on social media, it could have been anything. Maybe the Patriots traded him ahead of the NFL Draft. Perhaps they just waived him altogether. Or maybe it was something away from football altogether. The last option proved to be the correct one and it was not under the best of circumstances.
Reportedly, JuJu Smith-Schuster posted a photo to Snapchat. It was of him and an unidentified female in a car. No big deal, other than Smith-Schuster’s privates were clearly visible in the photo. According to those who were tracking such matters, the wide receiver deleted the photo a few minutes later, but by then the damage had been done and the image began to circulate.
As with any such mishap in the age of social media, responses were swift. There were posts like this…

The point is, that no player needs this type of attention, never mind one fighting for a roster spot. This shouldn’t be blown up as being as serious as issues other NFL players have faced this offseason, including several brushes with the law. However, it is a very bad look for JuJu Smith-Schuster (no pun intended) that can at best be attributed to poor decision-making, whether it was an accident or not.
So far, neither JuJu Smith-Schuster nor the New England Patriots have released any statement on the matter.
