The New England Patriots added some depth to their interior offensive line on Wednesday. They signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive guard Nick Leverett. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was the first to report the signing.

Nick Leverett

Tampa Bay signed Leverett as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season as a member of the Buccaneers practice squad. Leverett made his NFL debut in the 2021 season, appearing in two games.

Nick Leverett became a starter for Tampa Bay in 2021. He started ten games, opposite right guard Shaq Mason. Leverett committed only two penalties all season, both holding. Pro Football Focus graded Leverett as a 63.0 for the season. He was solid as a pass blocker, grading out at 71.0.

Last season Leverett played a total of four snaps over three games, all on special teams. Tampa Bay starting guards Cody Mauch and Luke Goedeke played 100% of the Buccaneers offensive snaps in 2023.
