For the first time in the 2024 season, there is a new number one team in the NFL Power Rankins. The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs held the spot from Week 1 through Week 11. However, after suffering their first defeat, they’ve been knocked from the top spot.

The Detroit Lions ascend to No. 1 heading into Week 12. Detroit began the season 1-1 but have run off eight straight wins since. The Lions continue to be strong contenders to make the first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. Detroit demolished the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, cruising to a 52-6 victory over the No. 32 team on this week’s power rankings.

Despite Detroit’s dominance, nobody should count out any of the other top NFL teams. Kansas City has only lost once. There are 11 NFL teams with at least seven wins. Plus, the Chiefs are the only team in the top-nine coming off a loss in Week 11. Things should heat up in the upcoming weeks as top teams jockey for playoff positioning in both conferences. A look at Patriots Football Now‘s NFL Power Rankings entering Week 10. Click on the player of the game for Week 10 highlights:
