Week 10 NFL Power Rankings: Saints Take Over Bottom Spot

Published

on

New Orleans Saints Dennis Allen became the second NFL head coach to be fired in 2024 following their Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 in Week 9 to improve to 8-0. This means there is no change in the top spot from the Week 9 NFL Power Rankings. In fact, the Chiefs have sat at No. 1 in the rankings wire-to-wire so far this season. But while there were no changes at the top, there was movement at the bottom of the pecking order.

The Carolina Panthers beat the New Orleans Saints 23-22 to improve to 2-7. Carolina’s win means every NFL team has at least two wins this season. New Orleans started the season 2-0 but has now lost seven straight. Saints head coach Dennis Allen became the second NFL head coach to be fired this season after the game, joining Robert Saleh of the New York Jets.

Carolina’s victory gives the NFL nine teams with two victories this season, including the Panthers and Saints. However, a seven-game losing streak was enough to place the Saints at No. 32 in this week’s rankings.

The Panthers joined the Jets and Titans as teams ascending the most this week. Meanwhile, the Seahawks and Raiders fell the furthest after losing in Week 9. No teams entered or exited the top ten, though the Packers and Texans both fell a few spots after losses.
