Two Patriots Ruled Out, Eight Others Questionable vs. Jets

The New England Patriots released their players’ game status for Sunday against the New York Jets. Two rookies were ruled out for the game. New England listed eight players as questionable, giving them a 50-50 chance of playing.
Wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and offensive guard Layden Robinson were the players ruled out. Neither player participated in practice this. week, so the designation does not come as a surprise. Both were injured in last week’s 32-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Polk suffered a concussion, while Robinson went down with an ankle injury.
Javon Baker and Tyquan Thornton were inactive last week. At least one of them could see the field in Polk’s absence. Sidy Sow replaced Robinson at right guard after his injury but received the lowest grade on the team from Pro Football Focus. It is unclear if he will start there against the Jets or if right tackle Mike Onwenu will shift over once again.

Questionable Players
New England listed eight players as questionable. The group included two players who did not participate in Friday’s practice. CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder/personal reasons) and DT Daniel Ekuale (abdomen) were DNPs.
OT Vederian Lowe (ankle), OG Michael Jordan (ankle), OG Sidy Sow (illness), DE Keion White (ankle), LB Raekwon McMillan (back), and LB Sione Takitaki (knee) joined Jones and Ekuale as having questionable status for the game.
There are so many offensive linemen either out or questionable that the starting unit remains a mystery. Ben Brown will start at center. Mike Onwenu will start at either right guard or right tackle, and Demontrey Jacobs will likely start at one of the tackle spots, though that’s not a given. Stay tuned.
The New England Patriots host the New York Jets at 1 p.m. Sunday.
