Sincere Haynesworth has signed with the New England Patriots practice squad

The New England Patriots made four roster moves on Tuesday. They opened up a spot on their 53-man roster and released two players from the practice squad. New England signed center Sincere Haynesworth to the practice squad. The Patriots now have one open spot on the 53-man roster and two open practice squad spots.

The Patriots released Jamree Kromah from the 53-man roster. He could sign with the Patriots practice squad if he clears waivers. Sione Takitaki began the season on the PUP list, along with Kendrick Bourne and Marte Mapu. Bourne and Mapu were added to the 53-man roster ahead of New England’s Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins. Takitaki taking Kromah’s spot is the most likely outcome, assuming he has no setbacks this week.

Matt Landers’ release leaves the Patriots with no wide receivers on their practice squad. He showed some big-play ability in his lone preseason appearance. At 6-foot-4 with 4.37 40-yard speed, he has exceptional physical tools. But with Bourne’s return, New England now has seven wide receivers on the 53-man roster and may opt to fill the spot with another position of need.

Offensive lineman Jerome Carvin was the other player released from the practice squad. He has had two stints with the Patriots this season. He was on their practice squad from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10 before being released the first time. Carvin re-signed with the practice squad on Oct. 2 before his second release six days later.

Sincere Haynesworth

Haynesworth was a three-star recruit coming out of Pearland High School in Pearland, Tex in the Class of 2019. He chose to play collegiately for the Tulsa Green Wave. He started as a true freshman at right guard for the final five games of the 2019 season.

Tulane moved Haynesworth to center in 2020. He remained the team’s starting center for the next four seasons. He appeared in 59 games during his college career with 54 starts, 49 of them coming at center. Sincere Haynesworth was named first-team All-AAC in both 2022 and 2023.

Despite having a very productive collegiate career, Haynesworth’s measurables did not pop off the page. He measured just under 6-foot-1 and weighed 300 pounds while running a 5.27 40-yard dash. Haynesworth was not selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The New Orleans Saints signed Haynesworth and kept him throughout training camp. He appeared in two preseason games as a right guard, which he hadn’t played since 2019. New Orleans waived him with an injury designation on Aug. 20. He reached an injury settlement to become a free agent.

Sincere Haynesworth joins Liam Fornadel, Bryan Hudson, Caleb Jones, and Jalen McKenzie as offensive linemen on the New England Patriots practice squad.
