Patriots Daily: Key 49ers Availability Remains Questionable

Published

on

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams is listed as questionable for their Week 4 game against the New England Patriots

The San Francisco 49ers face several key questions about player availability for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. They ruled two players out and listed another five as questionable. There is considerable talent among the group of players whose availability remains in the balance,

The 49ers will be without DL Javon Hargrave (triceps) and LB Curtis Robinson (knee). The status of WR Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf), LT Trent Williams (toe), DL Jordan Elliott (foot), LB Dee Winters (ankle), and S Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) is TBD.

Samuel sat out San Francisco’s Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Jauan Jennings replaced him. Jennings caught 11 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns against the Rams. If Samuel is out, the Patriots will still have their hands full with Jennings, alongside Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle.

Trent Williams is the best left tackle in the NFL. He received first-team All-Pro honors each of the past three seasons. It would be a significant loss for the 49ers if he can’t go. Talanoa Hufanga was a first-team All-Pro in 2022 before an ACL tear limited him to 10 games last season. He was inactive for San Francisco’s first two games this season but did play in Week 3.

Updates will be provided on the status of all players as they become available.

More From Patriots Football Now

Does Patriots OC Alex Van Pelt Need to Change His Philosophy – Van Pelt stated he would mold the offensive scheme around what suits the team’s personnel best. But should that be done around what’s best for Jacoby Brissett or Drake Maye? It’s time to pick a lane.

Keion White Went From Decent to Dominant in Second Season – White enjoyed a solid start to his NFL career in 2023. He transitioned into a sensation second season. Pro Football Focus ranks White as the league’s fourth-best pass-rusher entering Week 4.

Robert Kraft Pays $120,000 for Tom Brady Rookie Card – Kraft and Brady attended an auction on Tuesday in New York City. Kraft left with Brady’s autographed rookie card, shelling out $120K. It was not close to the biggest purchase of the night though.
