Patriots Week 4 Injury Report: Three Out, Four Questionable
The New England Patriots released their game status report for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. New England listed 12 players on their practice participation reports during the week. Fortunately, five of those players will be available for Week 4. The report listed three players as being out, with four others as questionable.
Not playing this weekend for New England are offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), offensive guard Michael Jordan (ankle), and cornerback Alex Austin (knee). Their designations come as no surprise as they were all non-participants at practice this week.
A “questionable” designation indicates a 50-50 chance of being available. The four New England Patriots receiving this designation were offensive tackle Caedan Wallace (knee), offensive guard Sidy Sow (ankle), linebacker Anfernee Jennings (shoulder), and cornerback Jonathan Jones (shoulder).

The Patriots received some positive news. Tight end Hunter Henry, center David Andrews, offensive lineman Mike Onwenu, cornerback Christian Gonzalez, and safety Jabrill Peppers were not listed on the report. All dealt with practice limitations at various points this week but will play on Sunday, barring something unforeseen.
New England Patriots Injury Implications
If Caedan Wallace is unable to go, the Patriots will turn to Demontrey Jacobs to start at left tackle. It would likely mean a call of from the practice squad for the game as well. The depth at left tackle for the Patriots was depleted in recent weeks. Chukwuma Okorafor left the team, while Vederian Lowe suffered a knee injury.
Michael Jordan has been starting at left guard for New England. Sidy Sow will start if healthy. He played with the first unit throughout training camp. Sow injured his ankle in the preseason finale. He has yet to play this season.
Alex Austin being out and Jonathan Jones being questionable means Marco Wilson could be back in the lineup. He was inactive in Week 3 after playing the first two games. Wilson committed a pass interference penalty each of the first two games, likely leading to his benching. Rookie Marcellas Dial Jr. seeing snaps at cornerback is a possibility as well.
Anfernee Jennings would be a huge loss for the Patriots with Oshane Ximines already in IR. Joshua Uche is the lone outside linebacker with experience left on the roster. New England could try to move Jahlani Tavai over or give rookie Curtis Jacobs some playing time.
The San Francisco 49ers host the New England Patriots at 4:25 on Sunday, televised on FOX.
