Patriots Daily: N’Keal Harry Among Ex-Pats Cut on Tuesday

The New England Patriots had to make 23 roster moves to get down the 53-man roster limit before yesterday’s deadline. Around the NFL, other franchises were in the same boat on Cutdown Day. As teams reduced their rosters, familiar faces around the league found themselves without a job. After seven former Patriots received bad news on Monday, another batch of ex-Pats turned in the playbooks yesterday, including former first-round pick N’Keal Harry.
The Patriots selected Harry in Round 1 (No. 32 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. New England passed on such receivers as A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf, Deebo Samuel, and Terry McLaurin. Harry played three seasons for the Patriots. He amassed 57 receptions for 598 yards and four touchdowns. New England traded him to the Chicago Bears before the 2022 season for a seventh-round draft pick (New England drafted Jaheim Bell with the pick in 2024). He spent 2023 with the Minnesota Vikings, with whom he remained in training camp. But this season, Minnesota attempted to convert Harry to tight end. He caught four passes for 60 yards in the preseason but it was not enough to earn a spot on the Vikings 53-man roster.
Among the other former Patriots players cut yesterday were: DB Breon Borders (Giants), WR Damiere Byrd (Bills), DL Bryan Cowart (Bears), WR Malik Cunningham (Ravens), OL Chasen Hines (Dolphins), TE Jacob Hollister (Panthers), WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey (Broncos), OL Ryan Johnson (Buccaneers), QB Trace McSorley (Commanders), ED Jay Person (Buccaneers), RB James Robinson (Saints), OL Will Sherman (Broncos), TE Matt Sokol (Steelers), Ameer Speed (Colts), OL Andrew Steuber (Falcons), RB J.J. Taylor (Texans), P Corliss Waitman (Bears), WR Kristian Wilkerson (Raiders), and CB Joejuan Williams (Saints).
As more transactions become known post-cutdown, they will be updated on Patriots Football Now.
