Updated New England Patriots 2025 NFL Draft Picks
On Wednesday the New England Patriots traded Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots received a third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in return. Eliot Wolf stated he wanted to do things “The Packer Way” while running the show in New England. This consists of drafting, developing, and extending core players.
New England has nine selections scheduled for the 2025 draft:
Round 1 – New England Patriots
The Patriots control their own Round 1 selection. They are currently projected to land a top-five pick for the second straight year. That has not happened in New England since 1993 and 1994. The Patriots selected Drew Bledsoe and Willie McGinest in those drafts.

Round 2 – New England Patriots
New England traded down in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They traded with the Chargers to move down three spots in Round 2 but moved up 27 spots (from 137 to 110) on Day 3 of the draft. The Patriots drafted Ja’Lynn Polk at No. 37 following the move back.
Round 3 – New England Patriots
A year ago, the Patriots stayed at their spot in Round 3 and selected Caedan Wallace. This pick will likely fall in the 65-70 range unless New England can exceed expectations in 2024.
Round 3 – Atlanta Falcons
This is the pick received in the Matthew Judon trade. If Patriots fans want solid draft picks without rooting against their favorite team, this team gives them a team to root against. The worse the Falcons perform in 2024 the better it is for this pick.
Round 4 – New England Patriots
Round 5 – New England Patriots
New England controls their own picks for the first five rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Round 6 – None
The Patriots traded their sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Chargers a year ago. They got back cornerback J.C. Jackson and a seventh-round pick.
Round 7 – New England Patriots
In the 2024 draft, the Patriots were excited to see tight end Jaheim Bell still on the board. These picks can serve as a priority order of sorts on potential undrafted free agents, which New England has been big fans of through the years.
Round 7 – Tennessee Titans
New England acquired this selection in exchange for Nick Folk on cutdown day in 2023. Rookie Chad Ryland beat Folk out for the Patriots’ placekicker job, and Tennessee parted ways with a seventh-round pick to ensure getting the sure-footed veteran. The Patriots were planning to waive Folk, while the Titans landed a reliable kicker. A win-win trade.
Round 7 – Browns, Chargers, or Vikings
When the New England Patriots acquired J.C. Jackson last season for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, they also received a seventh-round draft pick from the Chargers. However, the Los Angeles Chargers owned three seventh-round picks and there have been varying reports about which pick the Patriots own. If it is not the Chargers’ pick, it could (originally) belong to either the Cleveland Browns or Minnesota Vikings.
