Report: Jason McCourty is Leaving ‘Good Morning Football’
Former New England Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty transitioned into a successful career in media once his NFL career ended after the 2021 season. He joined NFL Network’s Good Morning Football show as an analyst in 2022. McCourty has been an excellent addition to the show. However, it is being reported that his time with the show has ended.
The Athletic reported that McCourty will not return to GMFB for the upcoming season. The show had been based out of New York but is moving its production to Los Angeles. McCourty’s not wanting to move with the show was cited as the reason for his departure.
Host Jamie Erdhall will stay with the show. The rest of the lineup remains in flux at this time. Kyle Brandt will reportedly work in a hybrid role, remaining in New York at least part-time. Peter Schrager’s future with the show remains unknown at this. time.
What’s Next for Jason McCourty?
Jason McCourty began doing color commentary for CBS college football broadcasts in 2023. His performance was widely applauded. All indications are that his role with CBS will continue. As a married father of three, McCourty declined to move his family to Los Angeles.
McCourty enjoyed a 13-year career in the NFL from 2009 to 2021. He played eight seasons for the Tennessee Titans (2009-2016), one year with the Cleveland Browns (2017), three seasons with the New England Patriots (2018-2020), and his final year with the Miami Dolphins (2021). During his time in New England, Jason McCourty got to play alongside his twin brother Devin McCourty and helped the Patriots win Super Bowl 53.
