Patriots Daily: Drake Maye Signs Rookie Deal With New England
The New England Patriots made May 28 “Maye Day” yesterday, signing first-round pick Drake Maye to his rookie contract. Reports indicated the deal is for four years and $36.63 million, fully guaranteed. Maye received a $23.46 million signing bonus.
New England has agreed to terms with five of eight selections. Maye joins Javon Baker, Marcellas Dial Jr., Joe Milton III, and Jaheim Bell as signed selections for the Patriots. Ja’Lynn Polk, Caeden Wallace, and Layden Robinson remain unsigned.

Christian Gonzalez, the Patriots first-round pick in 2023, did not agree to his rookie deal until July 21 last year. Maye is the highest selection to sign from the 2024 draft class.
Drake Maye is the highest Patriots draft pick since Drew Bledsoe went No. 1 overall in the 1993 NFL Draft. He started for two seasons at North Carolina. Maye threw 62 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 26 college starts. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns. New England is hoping he can bring similar production to the NFL. Maye is reportedly being given a chance to compete for the starting QB job as a rookie. Getting signed is a good first step. Stay tuned.
