Patriots Daily: Stevenson Injury Update; Move to Two in NFL Draft
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson was injured in yesterday’s 6-0 loss. Stevenson fumbled with 4:25 left in the first quarter. Chargers linebacker Tuli Tuipuloto brought down Stevenson down on a hip-drop tackle. He needed to be helped off the field and would not return. Stevenson finished the game with 39 yards rushing on nine carries.
Jeff Howe of The Athletic reported that initial x-rays on the ankle were negative. An MRI is supposedly scheduled for this week. It is likely that regardless of the outcome, the Patriots could be without Stevenson for a bit.
Meanwhile, there was good news for New England Patriots fans hoping for a high draft pick yesterday (for those in this group, Matthew Slater understands). With the Arizona Cardinals beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Patriots moved up to number two in the 2024 NFL Draft order. This past weekend, the initial 2024 NFL Mock Draft was posted on Patriots Football Now, with New England selecting North Carolina QB Drake Maye third. If they move up to second, does Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. become too tempting to pass up?

Fun Fact of the Day
Khalil Mack has 23.0 sacks with the Chargers after yesterday’s game against the Patriots. With 2.0 more sacks, Mack will become the fourth player in NFL history to record at least 25.0 regular season sacks with three different franchises. The others on the list: Kevin Greene, Julius Peppers, and Coy Bacon,
Sean Jones just misses the cut. The Northeastern University alum had 57.5 sacks with the Oilers, 31.0 with the Raiders, and 24.5 with the Packers…though he did have 4.0 more for Green Bay in the playoffs.
