New England Patriots signed somebody familiar to fill a vacancy on the practice squad yesterday. WR T.J. Luther, who had previously been with the Patriots practice squad from Sept. 1 to Oct. 18 before being released. New England had an opening on the practice squad after signing Jeremiah Pharms, Jr. to the 53-man roster off it last week.
T.J. Luther originally signed with the New York Jets as an UDFA following the 2023 NFL Draft. He was among the Jets final cuts on Aug. 29, and signed with the Patriots practice squad two days later. Tweet of the Day
Today’s Tweet of the Day comes from Bruce Allen, correcting the narrative that the New England Patriots franchise was irrelevant throughout their history prior to the hiring of Bill Parcells in 1993…
So tired of this crap. The team from '76 – '88 was very relevant, a winning record every year except 1981. In '89 they lost 3 defensive starters for the season in the final preseason game, then had 3 terrible years. They were in a bad state yes. Irrelevant? Only to frontrunners. https://t.co/1LStnktDPO pic.twitter.com/rIRz2cH7tq
