Poll: Did the Patriots Do the Right Thing at the Trade Deadline?

Did the New England Patriots make the right decision at the NFL Trade Deadline by standing pat? Or would you have liked to see them sell off assets for draft picks?

The Patriots are currently sitting at 2-6, last in the entire AFC. They have scored the least points in the conference while allowing the third most. New England has had a cavalcade of injuries, inconsistent quarterback play from Mac Jones, and until recent reports of a lucrative extension for Bill Belichick, even some coaching instability.

Although there were a few players rumored to be on the block, in the end nobody got traded (PFN highlighted possible trade scenarios here). However, New England did reacquire J.C. Jackson in a trade with the Chargers leading up to the NFL Trade Deadline, so they weren’t completely inactive.

Several other struggling teams traded away potential free agents. This included this weekend’s opponent, the Washington Commanders, who parted ways with defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young. While the Patriots may not have had players available of that caliber, they did have some talent on the table in players like Josh Uche, Kyle Dugger, Trent Brown and Mike Onwenu, who they reportedly received calls on.

So, how are you feeling now that the NFL trade deadline has come and gone? Are you happy with the direction the Patriots are taking?
