Patriots Daily: Trade Deadline Moves; New England Stands Pat
Yesterday’s NFL Trade Deadline came and went without the New England Patriots making any moves. There were rumors of several Patriots players being on the move, but all remain in Foxboro today. This is good news for fans of Josh Uche, Kyle Dugger, Trent Brown, Mike Onwenu, Ezekiel Elliott and others in the rumor mill. Now the question in the offseason will be whether New England is willing and able to retain their services for 2024 and beyond.
There were eight trades made around the NFL in the 24 hours leading up to the trade deadline. Two of the biggest moves involved the New England Patriots next opponent, the Washington Commanders. Washington traded both of their pass rushing edge players. First they sent Montez Sweat (6.5 sacks) to the Chicago Bears for a 2024 second round pick. The Commanders then traded Chase Young (5.0 sacks) to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2024 third round pick. Another rebuild is underway in D.C.
