New England Patriots left tackle Trent Brown

Optimism of Jonathan Jones returning to action for the New England Patriots this weekend has been dampened by the addition of Trent Brown to the injury report. Friday is the first time this week Brown has been a limited participant in Patriots practice.

New England’s left tackle is listed as having a chest injury and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.  As arguably the lone bright spot on the Patriots offensive line this season, Brown being unavailable on Sunday would be a big blow.

The complete injury statuses for Sunday:

OUT
CB Chritstian Gonzalez (shoulder)
LB Matthew Judon (bicep)

QUESTIONABLE
DL Christian Barmore (knee)
OT Trent Brown (chest)
ST Cody Davis (knee)
DE Trey Flowers (foot)
DL Davon Godchaux (ankle)
CB Jack Jones (ankle)
OL Riley Reiff (knee)
RB Rhamondre Stevenson (thigh)
OG Cole Strange (knee)
CB Shaun Wade (shoulder)

One positive from Friday’s report was RB Ty Montgomery (illness) was back to full participation.

If Trent Brown is unable to go on Sunday, Vederian Love, Tyrone Wheatley Jr., Riley Reiff or Calvin Anderson would likely replace him in the starting lineup. Lowe replaced Trent Brown when he missed the Miami Dolphins game in week two.
