NFL Power Rankings After Week 4 Games

Published

on

Last week PFN’s NFL Power Rankings made their debut with three teams still undefeated and four others winless. Four weeks into the 2023 NFL schedule, those totals were down to two of each.

Once again, these NFL Power Rankings are not based on hypotheticals, potential or feelings. These rankings are based on reality. As Bill Parcells noted, “you are what your record says you are.” The two undefeated teams deserve to take the top spots in the rankings, regardless of how impressive some of these 3-1 teams might look. Likewise, the lone teams without a win take up the rear, which they do.

With this in mind, the NFL Power Rankings from Patriots Football Now…

32. Chicago Bears (0-4)

Sunday was a great opportunity for the Bears to walk away with a victory, but they couldn’t close the deal. Not only were they playing an 0-3 Denver team, but Chicago also actually led 28-7 with under a minute remaining in the third quarter. But alas, it was not meant to be as they came up short, 31-28. QB Justin Fields had an excellent statistical game with 335 yards passing and four touchdowns, but an interception on the Bears final offensive play set up the game-winning field goal for the Broncos.

31. Carolina Panthers (0-4)

Like Chicago, Carolina was also in a battle of winless squads on Sunday, playing host to Minnesota. The Panthers also led in their game, taking a 13-7 advantage into halftime. But in the second half they could not generate any offense and lost 21-13. The lone touchdown for Carolina was a 99-yard interception return by Sam Franklin, Jr. Rookie QB Bryce Young returned to action and looked decent throwing, but a costly fumble was returned for a Vikings touchdown.
