Bill Belichick Jokes About Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Romance

Taylor Swift watches her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce at yesterday's Kansas City Chiefs game alongside Kelce's mother.

A month ago, Bill Belichick made headlines when making his making his weekly appearance with The Greg Hill Show. The topic: Belichick’s admiration of pop superstar Taylor Swift. The New England Patriots head coach wouldn’t “officially” own up to being a Swifty, but he was certainly impressed by her performance at Gillette Stadium earlier this year. On Monday morning Belichick made his way into the Taylor Swift newsfeed once again. This time it was by complimenting her possible boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, on their rumored relationship.

“Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career. This would be the biggest,” proclaimed Belichick.

In his 11 year NFL career, Kelce made eight Pro Bowls, was named first team All Pro four times, and won two Super Bowls. Including the postseason, he has 958 receptions for 11,987 receiving yards and 87 touchdowns. Despite this impressive resume, it is tough to argue with Bill Belichick’s analysis of his relationship status.

At the end of August, Belichick stated on the show that he saw Taylor Swift perform through a storm in Foxboro earlier in the year.

“That was pretty impressive. She’s tough man. She just stood out there and played right through it.”

Since that appearance on the radio show, the crew was obviously eager to ask for Belichick’s opinion on this latest development. Swift watched Kansas City play the Chicago Bears on Sunday, sitting in suite with Kelce’s mother.

But if anyone is taking this too seriously, in the words of Belichick’s favorite Swift song, “You Need to Calm Down.” If the New England Patriots did not defeat the New York Jets on Sunday, it is unlikely Bill Belichick is gossiping about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce the next day.

The New England Patriots play host to the Kansas City Chiefs on December 18 this season. So there is still hope for Bill Belichick to catch Taylor Swift in Foxboro again in 2023.
